New to Auctions? Here's How to Bid

No Live Sales, Commission Bidding Only

At Greasbys, we don't hold live or online auctions. Every bid is submitted as a commission bid after viewing the items in person at our premises. You'll need to register first, either by filling in a form at our office or by calling or emailing us, along with a fully refundable £100 deposit. Once registered, you can view items on the Tuesday before each auction and submit your bids by 5:00pm that same day.

Registration & Deposit

Fill in a form at our office, or call or email us to register. A £100 deposit is required to complete registration, and this is fully refundable.

Viewing the Items

Viewing takes place on the Tuesday before each auction, from 8:30am to 4:45pm. This is your only chance to inspect items before bidding.

Submitting Your Bid

Bids must be submitted by email or in person by 5:00pm on the Tuesday of viewing. The minimum bid we accept is £8.00, and late bids can't be considered.

Collection & Payment

Successful bids carry a buyer's premium of 26% + VAT. Items must be collected on the Thursday following the auction, between 8:30am and 4:45pm.

This is when the lots are sold. There's no live sale to attend, all bidding was already submitted the day before, we'll be in touch once results are confirmed.

Collection

Successful items must be collected from our premises the day after the auction. We're unable to offer collection on Fridays, so please make sure you collect on time to avoid storage fees.
